Students read about the 10th Mountain Division of the US Army. This special division trains in the mountains to train for combat in high altitudes and Arctic conditions. We were inspired by the 10th Mountain Division troop from Colorado that helped save Italy from the Nazis in World War II. Students drew pictures of the division badge and of soldiers in the mountains.
