Perception, Intent & Abstraction- Clouds

Kindergarten clouds:

1. Read or watch "It Looked Like Spilt Milk."

2. Discuss- Do people always see things the same way? What are some things that puddles or clouds can also look like?

3. Use white and gray crayons or oil pastel to draw on blue or gray paper. Draw whatever you want!

4. Paint blue, white, and gray watercolor over your crayon drawings.

5. Sprinkle salt onto the wet paint.

6. Pair up with a partner and discuss what you see in each other's art.

Extension activities:

- Look at, discuss, and interpret abstract expressionism, like paintings byWassilly Kandinsky.

• Sunset Abstractions- Dot with different color marker onto coffee filter or printer paper, then use a paint brush to wash water over the dots, blending the colors.
