To prepare for observational drawing of livestock animals, 4th and 5th grade had to practice drawing the cow, pig, and horse form from ovals and lines. Students drew the animals they saw at the Denver Stock Show field trip, paying special attention to what the animals and people were doing. They further reflected upon what they learned about the lives of the animals in the art classroom, as added color to their drawings. Students wrote about the lives and animals of the people to help narrate their work.
Colorado State Visual Arts Standards and Evidence Outcomes:

i like the picture of the mother and the baby pigs because it shows hoe the mother cares care of hre babys. this makes me feel grateful because i think thats a loveing mothre
i like these pictures they are very juciy
I like the picture of the sheep getting his hair cut, because it shows how people get wool. It makes me feel depressed because maybe the sheep doesn't want to lose his hair. One way we could make this art better is by coloring in the arms so you can see it better.

you should make the pigs more realestick
I like the picture of the mother and baby pigs because it shows how mothers care for their babies. It makes me feel peaceful because it feels good to see a family of animals loving each other. One way we could make this artwork better is by adding a dark outline around the animals so you can see them better.
